SsangYong Motors UK provides a warm welcome to Oakwood SsangYong, who will represent the brand, and its range of vehicles, from its showroom located on the Foxhunters Trading Estate in Whitley Bay.
Oakwood Specialist Cars, founded in 2004, has always specilaised in 4x4 vehicles. Over the years, the company has expanded into larger premises within the same area of Whitley Bay.
“We are very happy to become the latest member of the SsangYong family” said Mike Miller, dealer principal at Oakwood. “We’ve been aware for a long time of just how good the SsangYong product has become and so we are really happy to represent the brand here on Tyneside - it’s an exciting time for us.” Mike added; “ The award-winning products come with a market-leading 7-year warranty, which not only proves a quiet confidence on behalf of SsangYong but more importantly, gives our future customers peace of mind. We are behind SsangYong 100 per cent.”
After the successful launch of the firm’s flagship 4x4 Rexton and the award-winning Musso pick-up, SsangYong Motors UK will launch the all-new Korando, which was unveiled at Geneva Motorshow in March, later this year.
Nick Laird, managing director of SsangYong Motor UK said: “We are delighted that Oakwood SsangYong is joining the SsangYong franchise – they are a good dealership, passionate about 4x4 vehicles, and I’m confident that they will provide excellent service to both existing and new SsangYong customers.”
SsangYong is actively looking for dealers to represent the brand in a number of locations. Current open points include Birmingham - north, Bristol, Inverness, Liverpool, Oxford, Portsmouth, Southampton, Teesside and Telford.
All SsangYong vehicles are covered by an industry beating 7-years/150,000 miles warranty. Designed to be totally transparent and give customers complete peace of mind, this warranty covers all the major mechanical components including wheel bearings, suspension joints and bushes, steering joints, shock absorbers and even the audio system. Wearable components such as clutch discs and brake friction materials which could have their life reduced by poor driving are covered for one year or 12,500 miles, and the battery and paintwork for three years.
Made in Korea
SsangYong cars are manufactured in South Korea by SsangYong Motor, which is 75 per cent owned by the Indian engineering conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra and imported into the UK by SsangYong Motor UK. Established in 1954, SsangYong is Korea's oldest vehicle manufacturer and only 4x4 and SUV specialist producer. There are currently some 65 SsangYong dealers covering England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, with new locations being added to the network all the time.
