SsangYong Motors UK has appointed Mark Burrows as director of aftersales, with immediate effect

Mark, who has worked in the motor industry all his working life, starting as an apprentice technician with Mitsubishi Motors, moving on to several different roles within the company, including regional sales manager and field sales manager. Mark then went onto join the Mitsubishi Ralliart team in 1999 as national sales manager, before joining the then emerging Korean brand, Kia.

Moving on to two wheels, Burrows left Kia to join Triumph Motorcycles in 2003. In 2008 he joined the iconic motorcycle brand Harley-Davidson leading to head up Dealer Development across Europe, The Middle East and Africa. Latterly, Burrows joined global brand Tesla as regional service manager responsible for emerging markets before joining Jaguar Land Rover Classic, where he was responsible for parts, accessories and lifestyle portfolio products.

As director of aftersales at SsangYong Motors UK, Mark will be responsible for SsangYong’s aftersales strategy, meeting volume and profit targets, and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction. Mark will be also be responsible for the firms’ port operation at Avonmouth and the personal development and coaching of a diverse team.

Speaking of his new role, Burrows said: “I’m looking forward to joining the SsangYong UK team in the next stage of its development. I have an array of experience across the automotive sector so I hope that I can help build upon the excellent foundations that are already in place. It’s a very exciting time for SsangYong, with a whole plethora of new, modern vehicles, and an ambitious growth strategy. Its ethos of how to do business is refreshingly open and down-to-earth. There is gratification in seeing a brand such as SsangYong evolve so I’m delighted to be joining this growing brand and company at this stage in its’ development. “

Made in Korea

SsangYong cars are manufactured in South Korea by SsangYong Motor, which is 75 per cent owned by the Indian engineering conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra and imported into the UK by SsangYong Motor UK.  Established in 1954, SsangYong is Korea's oldest vehicle manufacturer and only 4x4 and SUV specialist producer.  There are currently some 65 SsangYong dealers covering England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, with new locations being added to the network all the time.
